Installation & System Requirements

How do I install TikSave on macOS?

To install TikSave on your Mac, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Latest Releases page on GitHub.
  2. Download the latest release archive (usually named TikSave.zip or TikSave.dmg).
  3. Unzip the download (if it is a .zip file) to extract TikSave.app.
  4. Drag TikSave.app into your Applications folder.
  5. Double-click the app to open it.
Note for unidentified developers: Because TikSave is an open-source application that may not yet be signed with an Apple Developer Certificate, macOS might show a warning. To bypass this, right-click (or Control-click) TikSave.app in your Applications folder and select Open, then click Open in the prompt.
What versions of macOS are supported?

TikSave supports macOS 13.0 (Ventura) and all newer versions (macOS 14 Sonoma, macOS 15 Sequoia, and newer). It is compiled natively as a Universal Binary, ensuring high-performance execution on both Intel processors and Apple Silicon chips (M1, M2, M3, M4 series).

How does the watermark removal work?

When you input a TikTok link, TikSave communicates with TikTok's API endpoints to retrieve the underlying raw media streams before the platform overlays user watermarks and end-cards. It then streams the clean video container directly to your storage, preserving the original resolution.

Can I extract MP3 audio files?

Yes. TikSave allows you to download only the background music or audio clip from any video. In the downloader interface, toggle the export selector to Audio Only (MP3/M4A) and click download. The app will extract the audio track without saving the video file.

Is there support for batch downloading?

Yes. TikSave supports queueing multiple URLs. You can paste lists of URLs separated by spaces or newlines into the download field, and the app will automatically sequence them in the downloads list, downloading them one after another in the background.

Updates & Security

How do Sparkle auto-updates work?

TikSave has the Sparkle SDK integrated. Every time the app launches, it checks the secure feed at https://tiksave.miftah.eu.cc/appcast.xml. If a higher version number is published in the feed, Sparkle alerts you inside the app with a changelog dialog. If you agree, it downloads the update, verifies the signature, and automatically replaces the old binary in your Applications directory.

Is downloading videos with TikSave safe and private?

Absolutely. Because TikSave is an open-source application, all source code is auditable on GitHub. We do not run middleman tracking servers, save download lists, or collect data. All downloading transactions take place directly between your Mac and TikTok's CDN servers. No registration is required.
